A comparative study of two historical tourism places from an architectural perspective (Case Study: the shrine of Seyed Mozaffar and the place of Indian's praise in Hormozgan Province, Iran)

Abstract

In this study, with a new look at the historical sites and tourism of Hormozgan, a case-comparative study; the Shrine of Seyyed Mozaffar and the Hindu shrine in Bandar Abbas, in addition to introducing the two mentioned tourist sites, the religious and Islamic influences in its design and architecture are also addressed. Hormozgan in the south of the country with a history of anchorage, after the Volga River in the north of the country, considered as an essential gateway for Asian and European overseas traders, as well as the entry of goods into Iran and the opening of the East India Company from the critical Persian Gulf waterway and its important port Gambron or it was the current Bandar Abbas. The present study emphasizes the architecture of two historical buildings and tourism, with descriptive, analytical, and comparative methods. In addition to examining both places, presenting a table also pays attention to its differences and similarities. Seyyed Mozaffar is considered a descendant of Imam Musa Kazem. For him, a tomb was built in the Nayband neighborhood of Bandar Abbas and has been of interest to the people for many years and receives many pilgrims and tourists. But the Hindu shrine is used as a purely historical shrine, which mainly was the temple of the Indians living in Bandar Abbas. The temple was built as a collection of gifts by Indian merchants.
